Pedestrian hit by train

Audubon Township, Becker County, MN: On January 23, 2023, at approximately 1:36 AM, the Becker County Sheriff's Office received a report of an eastbound BNSF train hitting a pedestrian west of the intersection of 230th Avenue between the cities of Audubon and Detroit Lakes.
Deputies and emergency personnel responded to the scene and located a deceased individual. At this time, no name is being released until positive identification is confirmed.
Essentia-St. Mary's EMS, the Detroit Lakes Fire Department, and the Ramsey
County Medical Examiner's Office is assisting the Becker County Sheriffs Office.
The incident remains under investigation.
