If you apply for a job, they will not do any of this! And they won’t do it through an app not related to their company!

Officers spoke with the complainant. She advised me she applied for an administrative assistant job at Nomi Healthcare on 02/11/2022 through Indeed. The victim said Nomi Healthcare reached out to her through the Telegram App. She accepted an interview and basic questions followed. The representative asked for the victim’s bank name so they could prepare a direct deposit. She also completed a W4 with her social security number on it and sent it to the company.

The victim said the company was going to be sending her a check for $4,500 for supplies and software. She received the check via the computer and cashed it at her bank. The victim said she was asked to send $400 through Zell to a vendor by the name of TANYAREYNON707[@]GMAIL.COM on 02/11/2022 which she did. The next day she was asked to send $2,500 to the same vendor through the Zell app which was successful. The victim was asked to download "cashapp" to send the remaining $1,300 to "$KIKAG30" (or Erika Gamez) but the transfer failed. She was then asked to send $600 on Zell to TANYAREYNON707[@]GMAIL.COM. She sent the last $700 to TANYAREYNON707[@]GMAIL.COM again via Zell. The victim was notified on 02/16 or 02/17 that the original check from the company bounced. The scammer told her they would send her another check and continue doing transfers and the victim stopped communicating with the scammer. She made a complaint with her bank and they refused to reimburse her.
