1st homicide of 2022

St. Paul had its first homicide if the year on 9 January 2022. A woman in her 40s was stabbed at about 2:30 p.m. at an apartment building in the 100 block of West Larpenteur Ave, and police later arrested a man.

The Ramsey County Medical Examiner’s Office identified the victim as 48-year-old Tina M. McCombs of St. Paul.

Police arrested Maurice Angelo McClinton Smith, on suspicion of murder. He was found a few miles away, taken to the hospital and treated for exposure and then arrested.
