Do NOT ever give out your Medicare number

The victim stated he has been receiving phone calls from people claiming to be with Medicare and was wondering if the services they have provided are acceptable. The line of questioning was odd to him. He stated at one point they asked him if he needed a new insurance card in case his was damaged, but they needed his Medicare number. The victim did provide it to this unknown person. He believes these calls are fictitious. LE advised him to call Medicare and explain the situation to them as well.
